Dave McWethy, PhD

International Collaborator

PhD in Ecology and Enviromental Studies. His research focuses in understanding the factors that impulse the diversity and the change of the ecosystem at multiple spacial and temporal scales. Particularly, he’s interested in indentify the mechanisms responsibles of the dynamical transitions of vegetation mediated by raising perturbations in the entire world. His research includes the analysis and integration of the fire, climate and vegetation log at multiple scales, that is to say, sediments of lakes and peats through biophysical and human gradients impact. One of the main objectives of this research is to develop a frame to understand the vulnerability of the ecosystems to the changes in the fires regime as a result of human activity and climate change.
